Since spring weather in Maine is somewhat unpredictable, check the weather forecast and bring clothes for both warm or cool weather. Spring snow showers are not uncommon and sometimes several inches of snow accompanies a spring storm, especially in the higher elevations.
APRIL 29th – MAY 1st – 2011 – Boothbay Fishermen’s Festival
Enjoy 3 days of activities and fun! On Friday evening enjoy the Miss Shrimp Contest, Saturday begins early with a full day of activities (see the schedule below) including trap hauling, a codfish relay, old-fashioned fish fry, lobster crate races, and lots more. Don’t miss the Blessing of the Fleet Memorial Service and boat parade on Sunday in Boothbay Harbor.
April 30th, 2011 – Belfast Free Range Music Festival
The Colonial Theater, Waterfall Arts, First Church, Aarhus Gallery, Belfast Free Library, Belfast Maskers Community Theater, and the American Legion Hall are the downtown Belfast venues hosting the music festival. Over twenty bands and solo performers will be providing music of many genre, including rock, jazz, pop, country and more. This is an all day event you won’t want to miss.
